Robert W. (Eli) Kiefaber is a founding partner of Kiefaber & Oliva LLP. Eli focuses his practice on mineral title issues, oil and gas transactions and royalty litigation. His practice includes title opinions, division order opinions, joint operating agreements, acquisition and divestiture of oil and gas assets, federal leases, pooling and unitization and ownership and royalty disputes. Eli is Board Certified in Oil and Gas Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer. Eli earned his B.A from Kenyon College and his J.D., with honors, from Marquette University Law School. Eli is licensed to practice law in Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio and Colorado.
TOPIC:
"Payment and Suspense Issues" The presentation will focus on the identification of the proper Payor/Payee under the Texas Natural Resources Code and when royalty payments may be suspended. The presentation will also cover issues relating to overpayment and underpayment of royalties.
